Working Hours We operate a flexible working pattern (40-hour working week) which includes a set of core hours, with the balance from a flexible 'pot'.
Core hours are from 10.00am - 12.00 noon and 2.00pm to 4.00pm Monday-Thursday (2.00pm - 3.00pm on a Friday)
The remaining hours can be made anytime between 7.00am and 7.00pm
Health & Well-being Health and well-being of employees is very important to us. As an employee you will have the opportunity to complete an online health assessment followed by a medical assessment. You also have the opportunity to join our private medical scheme operated by BUPA. Half of the cost is borne by the company until you have given three years service, when the company bears all of the cost for your membership. Discounts rates are also available for eligible dependents (currently 50%).
We provide access to a Dental Insurance scheme in conjunction with National Dental Plan to provide differing levels of cash benefits for most dental treatment. Although the scheme is non-contributory, preferential rates have been negotiated.
There is a Childcare Vouchers scheme, operated on behalf of Costain by Accor Services UK, which enables employees, via a salary sacrifice arrangement, to give up part of their salary in exchange for Childcare Vouchers. This arrangement can also save you and the Company money, as the Vouchers are free of PAYE and National Insurance contributions. To join the Scheme you will have to agree to sacrifice some of your pay in favour of electronic vouchers that you can use for paying for your childcare arrangements.
The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is a 24/7 service that provides free access to a range of specialist support and information, including telephone and face-to-face counselling. The service is confidential and is operated by ICAS, the leading provider of these activities.
Pension & Savings Our employees long-term financial future is important to us. To help save for your pension the company will match employees contributions up to a maximum of 8% of salary, with a minimum investment of 4%.
We offer a Save As You Earn scheme which, subject to Board approval, enables you to save a regular monthly sum between £5 and £250 on concessionary tax-free terms.
We also provide Life Assurance cover of four times basic salary and Permanent Disability Benefit for eligible employees.
